Defining the Goal
In general, successful reading for students at age nine means comprehending in print most of what they are expected to comprehend when listening to spoken language. Successful writing means expressing in print most of what they are expected to express when speaking
Strategic Targets 2007 – 2010
Target 1 - All children (Y4-8) reading at or above the expected Ministry of Education level (asTTle Nov)
Target 2 - All children (Y4-8) spelling at or above chronological age (Peters Nov)
Target 3 - All children (Y54-8 writing at or above the expected Ministry of Education achievement level (asTTle Nov)
Target 4 - All children (Y4-8) achieving at or above expected Ministry of Education level in number (asTTle Nov)
